Khalil McDonald is a midfielder from Independence, Ohio, and a graduate of Independence High School.

McDonald played club soccer for OP FC before continuing his collegiate career at Susquehanna University. In 2024, he appeared in 13 matches and recorded his first collegiate assist against Keystone on September 7.

During the 2025 season, McDonald appeared in 18 matches with 13 starts for the River Hawks. He scored two goals, including two game-winners, and totaled four points with 19 shots.

McDonald was part of the Cleveland SC squad in 2025 before making his club debut on the road against Flower City Union on July 6, 2026.
